The Circle of Friends is a volunteer non-profit support organization that provides limited emergency financial assistance to current cancer patients receiving treatment at the Harrington Cancer Center.

Limited funds are available for expenses such as travel, lodging, rent or mortgage, utilities, prescribed nutritional supplements, take-home prescriptions, breast prostheses and other special needs. Assistance is provided on a short-term basis and requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Provides free emergency shelter and supportive services during their 30-day stay. The program provides bus tokens, emergency transportation, and referrals to community agencies for permanent housing, rental assistance, medical assistance, employment assistance, child care assistance, legal advocacy, counseling, and support groups, and accompaniment.

An employee of the agency will go to court with the client and will also help with police reports and help file Crime Victims compensation applications. The program also provides crisis intervention, violence education, and parenting classes. A family advocate is available to provide services for the children of victims.

Temporary shelter for homeless single women, and single mothers with children. Cannot house male children over the age of 12. Must be working or able to work, may stay up to 90 days. Services include case management, life skills training and a supportive environment.

Will also work with clients to move into permanent housing but you must be staying at their shelter to receive that service.
